Why Does Permanent Magnet VFD Save Energy?
Compared with conventional variable frequency drives operating under the same conditions (7 bar pressure / identical airflow and power conditions), permanent magnet variable frequency systems provide the following energy-saving advantages:
1.Motor Efficiency
IE4 permanent magnet motors achieve an average efficiency of 95%, while typical IE3 induction motors reach about 93%, resulting in more than 2% higher efficiency.
2.Transmission Efficiency
The permanent magnet VFD adopts an integrated coaxial design, providing over 2% higher transmission efficiency compared with traditional direct-drive systems.
3.Variable Frequency Range
With a frequency range of 0–300 Hz (compared to the typical 0–60 Hz), the wider frequency range improves speed control efficiency and enables smoother control at lower speeds, reducing excess power consumption by more than 2%.
4.High-Efficiency Motor Load Range
Permanent magnet motors operate synchronously and maintain higher efficiency under low-frequency operating conditions, achieving over 10% higher efficiency than conventional induction motors.
